Study of the fish community on the seagrass beds in Inhaca Island, Mozambique

During April-July of 2022, the COBIO-NET team started studying the fish community of seagrass beds at Inhaca Island, Mozambique. The main objective is to compare the fish community in restored and pristine seagrass beds of Cymodocea serrulata. The fieldwork is being conducted using a dragging net specifically designed to minimize the impact on the seagrass beds. The fish are photographed for identification, and immediately released back alive to their habitat.

The first field campaign has been completed. However, this work has just started and the second campaign will be conducted in November 2022.
